Sweepstakes Winner 'West at its Best' Trip 

Mike and Nancy Welty, their daughter Andrea Wolfe, and five-year-old granddaughter Taegan, really enjoyed their trip in the 'West at its Best'.

 

As the Summer Sheridan AAA Sweepstakes package winners, their big trip to Wyoming kicked off in August . . .  When asked what the highlight of their trip was, the Welty's responded that the scenery, and wildlife was THE greatest!  "The majestic Big Horn Mountains are beautiful, and we enjoyed the scenery on the ATV rides and driving tours, where we were able to spot moose on several occasions, which was exciting," Nancy stated.  "And seeing the wild horses was the greatest excitement for all of us"!  

 

An educational visitor center stop armed them with information about the different bands of horses, prior to seeing the wild horses roam in the Bighorn Canyon.  Taegan took in every word and now tells everyone "I saw 'Seattle', his four wives, and his three children."  And so this little 'cowgirl' was quite thrilled with Grandma and Grandpa's purchase of a stuffed horse that resembles 'Seattle', and even more so, with the horseback ride.  What an authentic first-time experience for our little cowgirl . . .

 

The Welty's were able to visit each of the museums, fort and mansion while in the #1 Western Town in America.  Ft. Phil Kearny was an area highlight where "we were impressed by the size of the fort, and enjoyed learning of its history at the visitor center."

 

They especially liked Don King's Museum "where Teagan tried out several saddles", and the Historic Sheridan Inn where "all enjoyed the self-guided tour, and the really cool original Buffalo Bill bar!"  On a future return visit when the renovation completes the Inn, they want to see even more of the 115 year old building, which is home to a few ghosts, as well as to "Buffalo Bill" Cody.
