JANUARY 1 POLAR BEAR CLUB 20th annual Polar Bear Jump at 1:00 pm at Lake DeSmet's monument boat ramp. A great way to start the New Year with a refreshing dip through the ice, really gets the blood pumping. No membership fee, just a steely resolve and an adventurous spirit.

MAY 8-9: MARS BIG HORN SOCCER CUP (formerly Snickers Tournament) - 21 fields of soccer competition in action with more than 110 youth soccer teams (ages 8-14) from WY, MT, and SD held at the Big Horn Equestrian Center (South of Sheridan). JUNE 5 MISS WYOMING SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT Miss Wyoming 2009 hosts 2010 contestants under the pageant theme "Wicked" (from Broadway Show) 7:30pm at WYO Theater.
JUNE 10-12: CELEBRATE THE ARTS -Area artists present and produce their wares and talents LIVE in the shops and on the sidewalks of Sheridan's historic downtown district. Featured artisans present a broad spectrum of artistic medium franging from wood carving, clay sculpting, oil & watercolor painting, poetry readings, crafts, various genres of live music, and book signings.

JUNE 15 - JULY 1: BIG HORN MOUNTAIN WILD FLOWERS PEAK SEASON -Meander through the majestic Big Horn Mountains on Scenic Byways 14-14A experiencing wild flowers and wild life, such as moose, elk, deer, bear, lions & marmot
JUNE 18-20: 18th ANNUAL BIGHORN MOUNTAIN WILD AND SCENIC TRAIL RUNS - hundreds runners from across the US, Australia, Germany and more compete in 59 and 100 miles, 30k and 50k races in the Bighorn Mountains with many coming to watch the races - west of Sheridan, with crowds cheering.
JUNE 18-20 BOZEMAN TRAIL DAYS Experience history coming alive at the famous 1860s Indian Wars site - programs, tours, demonstrations and living history camp, a weekend celebrating the fort’s 144 years

AUGUST 21: DIABETES DIRT DUATHLON - Come in on the 4th annual Duathlon - solo or team race consisting of 3 mile trail run, 10 mile single track bike, 2 mile trail run, all on dirt, with a million dollar view at Jeffries Draw near Sheridan at 8:00 a.m.

AUGUST 28-29: SHERIDAN ELKS YOUTH RODEO - Toughest youth (17 and under) competition with the best awards ($55,600 cash/awards), in 26 events attracting 750 entries daily, from the region.
